1. Scope of Work

  1. Inspect substrate surfaces for level, plumb, and readiness prior to tiling.
  2. Prepare all tiling surfaces including floor and wall substrates to ensure proper adhesion.
  3. Install floor tiles and wall tiles as per the approved layout and tile schedule.
  4. Ensure correct tile orientation, pattern, grout line spacing, and alignment.
  5. Supply and apply tile adhesive, trims, and grout in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  6. Install expansion joints as required to accommodate movement and avoid cracking.
  7. Clean tiles and grout residue after installation and provide a final detailed clean upon completion.
  8. Coordinate with plumber and builder to ensure waterproofing is complete prior to commencing work.

Tile Layout and Materials

All tiles and related materials shall be installed as per the client’s approved selections and layout drawings. Layout must be confirmed with the client or site supervisor prior to commencement.

Compliance and Standards

  1. All tiling work must comply with AS 3958.1 – Ceramic Tiles: Guide to the Installation of Ceramic Tiles.
  2. All substrates shall be inspected and approved prior to tiling.
  3. Work must not proceed over wet or inadequately cured waterproofing membranes.
  4. All adhesives, grout, and sealants must be used in accordance with manufacturer specifications and suitable for wet areas.
  5. Falls to waste must comply with the NCC and be verified by the builder before installation.

Preparation and Finishing

Substrates must be free of dust, oil, and contaminants prior to adhesive application.
1. Primer must be applied to porous substrates before adhesive.
2. All edges and junctions to be sealed with flexible silicone (colour to match grout or as directed).
3. Tile edges at external corners to be finished with trims unless otherwise agreed.
4. Waste covers to be installed flush and aligned with tile layout.

Coordination and Timing

1. Tiler shall coordinate with builder and other trades to confirm timing of substrate readiness, waterproofing, and fixture installation.
2. All rough-ins and waterproofing must be complete and signed off prior to commencing tiling.
3. Final tile cleaning must be completed prior to fit-off of plumbing fixtures.
4. Work to be completed within agreed timeframe: [Insert Date Range].

Exclusions

1. Supply of tiles unless specified.
2. Repairs to existing substrate unless agreed.
3. Waterproofing works (to be completed by licensed waterproofer).
4. Tiling to areas outside the defined bathroom scope unless stated.
