1. Scope of Work

  1. Surface preparation and finishing of walls, ceilings, doors, trims, and any other painted surfaces within the bathroom renovation area.
  2. Application of primers, sealers, and finishing coats as per product and substrate requirements.
  3. Painting of any timber, plasterboard, or previously painted surfaces impacted by the renovation.
  4. Coordination with other trades to ensure appropriate sequencing of works.
  5. Protection of adjacent surfaces from paint splatter or damage.
  6. Removal of all waste and cleaning of painted areas upon completion.

Surface Preparation

  1. Walls and Ceilings (Plasterboard or Cement Sheeting)
  • Fill joints and imperfections with suitable compound.
  • Sand smooth and dust off prior to painting.
  • Apply stain-blocking primer if required (e.g. over water marks).
  1. Timber Doors and Trims
  • Fill nail holes and surface imperfections.
  • Sand smooth and dust off.
  • Apply undercoat suitable for timber.
  1. Previously Painted Surfaces (if applicable)
  • Lightly sand to ensure adhesion.
  • Spot prime as needed.
  • Remove any loose, flaking or chalky paint.

Paint Systems and Products

All paint systems shall be applied in accordance with manufacturer instructions and Australian Standard AS/NZS 2311:2017 *Guide to the Painting of Buildings*.

Compliance and Standards

  1. All work shall comply with the latest version of AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules) and relevant state electrical safety regulations.
  2. All electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrician and a Certificate of Electrical Safety must be issued upon completion.
  3. All bathroom electrical work must meet IP rating requirements based on zone classification (e.g., IPX4 in zone 1).
  4. All circuits supplying bathroom fixtures must be protected by RCDs in accordance with the NCC and AS/NZS 3000.
  5. Any penetrations made in fire-rated or waterproof areas must be sealed as per code.

Testing and Commissioning

1. All circuits shall be insulation resistance tested prior to connection.
2. All fittings must be tested for correct polarity, earth continuity, and RCD function.
3. All lighting and appliances shall be tested for correct operation.
4. Certificate of Electrical Safety shall be provided to the client or builder on completion.

Coordination and Site Conditions

1. The electrician shall liaise with the builder or site supervisor to confirm locations of all switches, lights, fans, and outlets.
2. Electrician shall ensure rough-in is complete prior to wall sheeting or tiling works.
3. Fit-off shall be coordinated after cabinetry, tiling, and painting works are complete.
4. Site must be kept tidy, and all debris and packaging removed at the end of works.

Exclusions

1. Works outside the defined bathroom renovation area unless explicitly stated.
2. Installation of smart home systems, AV equipment, or non-standard data wiring.
3. Provision of fixtures unless specifically nominated.
4. Alterations to switchboard unless triggered by compliance upgrades.
